Application Engineer (Biobanking / LIMS)

The Role

We are looking for an Application Engineer with experience in Biobanking and/or LIMS to support our growing presence in Italy. Based in Milan, you will act as the link between clients and technology, translating laboratory and biobank workflows into effective digital solutions. You will work closely with Italian clients and DiData’s Swiss-based product and project teams.

The role is hybrid, combining remote work with on-site client activities. Occasional travel within Italy and abroad is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze laboratory, biobank, and clinical workflows and translate them into DiData system configurations
• Lead and support LIMS and biobanking system implementations from requirements to go-live
• Configure and customize workflows to reflect real operational processes
• Deliver system demonstrations and support pre-sales and solution discussions
• Conduct user training and provide application support (remote and on-site)
• Participate in system testing, validation, and quality assurance activities
• Collect client feedback and contribute to product improvements
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and validation materials
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and industry or scientific events

Your Profile

• Background in life sciences (e.g. Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics)
• Experience with biobanking, LIMS, or clinical laboratory environments
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Comfortable working in regulated, client-facing, and international environments
• Interest in software systems and digital solutions

Languages

• Fluent Italian and English (spoken and written)
