The Problem
Research projects grew significantly in the last decade — and so did their IT requirements. Yet researchers were still provided with software based on outdated technologies that failed to address modern challenges.
The Founders
After obtaining their master's degrees in bioengineering from EPFL, co-founders Riad Gacem and Anass Chikhi pursued separate paths — digital healthcare technologies and academic research — but kept returning to the same fundamental question.
The Question
Why is there such a gap between IT advances and the tools available to researchers? This question kept coming up in their discussions about making a better world — and it became the seed of DiData.
