The Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (LBMC) stands as a leading scientific institution in Latvia, specializing in molecular biology and biomedicine. Established in 1993, it has transformed into a prominent scientific hub, conducting both fundamental and practical investigations across various domains such as molecular genetics, vaccine advancement, genomics, proteomics, cancer biology, immunology, biotechnology, stem cell biology, structural biology, and beyond.
Before discovering our software, BMC encountered significant difficulties with their existing Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
The ever-expanding volume of data overwhelmed their previous software, leading to inefficiencies and frequent bottlenecks. Managing their storage became increasingly challenging, and their workflow processes lacked the necessary organization. BMC urgently needed a more robust and elegant platform to streamline their data management and optimize their workflows.
Our software presented the perfect solution, seamlessly accommodating their growing data needs while enhancing overall efficiency and productivity. This transformation allowed BMC to focus on their core activities with renewed confidence and clarity. .
Our comprehensive solution addressed BMC's needs with three key products: DI-LIMS, DI-FREEZ, and DI-EDC.
The Latvia team meticulously planned and executed the implementation process for both general workflow and nurse-specific projects. They defined necessary columns for migration, ensuring only essential data was transferred, and provided files for a smooth migration. A request processing solution and storage organization were developed, followed by comprehensive testing. Final scripts were created for migrating data from Nautilus to the new system, with consent management as the last step.
In Latvia, they established a process covering everything from creating patient records to sample collection, including designing studies, shipping samples, managing consents, labeling tubes, and maintaining workflow. This thorough approach ensures a seamless transition and efficient operation within the new system.
The added value of The implementation of DiData's solutions provided several significant benefits to the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (BMC):
DI-LIMS facilitated superior workflow management, ensuring that BMC’s processes were streamlined and well-organized. This allowed researchers to focus more on their scientific work rather than administrative tasks.
DI-FREEZ revolutionized BMC’s freezer and storage management, accommodating their expanding data storage needs without any hitches. This resulted in better data organization and easier retrieval of samples.
DI-EDC enhanced data capture and consent management, making the process more efficient and reliable. This improvement was crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of their research data.
The comprehensive solutions allowed BMC to enhance their overall productivity. Researchers could now focus on their core activities with renewed confidence and clarity, leading to more effective and focused research efforts.
By defining essential data for migration and conducting comprehensive testing, DiData ensured that the integrity and accuracy of BMC’s data were maintained throughout the transition.
The solutions were customized to fit both general workflow requirements and specific needs, such as the nurse-specific project process. This tailored approach ensured that the unique demands of different aspects of BMC’s operations were met effectively.
DiData’s solutions provided a robust platform that could grow with BMC’s increasing data needs, ensuring long-term sustainability and scalability for future research demands.
